"We're Blowing it" NBA Playoffs Pacers vs Bulls

Despite trying their might, the debacle the Indiana Pacers were dead set on creating didn't happen Saturday afternoon "on the road" at the unfriendly confines of Conseco Fieldhouse. 

After taking their own court to a chorus of boos from the heavily biased Bulls crowd, the Indiana Pacers jumped out to an early lead and held it for most of the game after Bulls superstar Derrick Rose suffered an injury and made a brief visit to the locker room. Even after returning to the game Rose was never a factor.

The Pacers built their lead to 16 in the second half and gradually let the Bulls cut that lead to one point late in the game proving the inevitable outcome of the series has only been delayed slightly.

Sure it's simple and cheap but is it the image you want to portray to your clients? I'm on the fence with that one.

How in the heck.....AND Shanae Grimes to boot?

Not only is this video cool as heck, they got Shanae Grimes to co-star in it too ? How the heck does THAT happen not to mention all of the cool special effects!

JWoww and the Pacers send the Bulls packing

Jenni JWoww Farley was in Indianapolis just in time to see the Indiana Pacers send the Chicago Bulls packing. It was an amazing game and the atmosphere was electric as the Pacers held off Derrick Rose as he single-handidly tried to save the night by playing like an absolute madman in the fourth quarter.

I recently attended the WPPI show in Las Vegas and came back inspired! In addition to the many other types of photography that I do, being a wedding photographer continues to be a passion of mine. There's no other opportunity in what I do to capture pure emotion of so many people sharing such a special time. Sure sports and entertainment can have plenty of emotion and excitement but there's nothing that compares to the celebration of the most important day in a young couple's lives. 

All that being said, here is my current wedding gallery.

At some point in the past I made a vow to update this site regularly. 

I failed miserably at that. 

So much has happened in the past few months, where to start....?

I guess the biggest thing to happen to me was getting asked to shoot the Indiana Pacers for an agency that haven't worked with before, US Presswire. I'll admit a few months ago I wasn't necessarily looking forward to the next basketball season as basketball has not been one of my stronger sports to photograph. I don't know what it is about basketball but it's just a sport that is harder for me shoot than others. I've been shooting professionally in the state of Indiana for 15 years and not having a great basketball shot in my portfolio has got to be sacrilege, isn't it?

Well by the time this season is over I'll have shot probably 40 or 50 basketball games (pro and college) and if I don't have anything to put in my portfolio, there may not be any hope for me!

Anyways, I just thought I'd share some shots from the NBA season so far, I think there's some nice stuff in here but I still have yet to get "the shot" that goes straight to the portfolio. Hopefully I will.

Carl Fine and Summer Stout Wedding Preview - Images by Michael Hickey

In an old country church in rural Indiana was the wedding of Carl Fine and Summer Stout recently. If I ever wanted a challenge I got one on this day. It was 90+ degrees and no air conditioning but yet we still pulled off a pretty nice little wedding thanks to a great couple and their family and friends.

American Country Music's best new artist Luke Bryan performed at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during Brickyard 400 weekend recently. Dude put on a heck of a show and did some very interesting covers spanning the gamut of country, rock and rap!

I had the pleasure recently of shooting the wedding of Tyler Perdue and Jenna Gray in Noblesville, Indiana. This wedding will probably go down as one of the better receptions I've experienced. I've never seen the dance floor PACKED from start to finish. The DJ Jesse J. Carruthers did a fantastic job in music selection and hype. TIP: If you really care about the "fun factor" of your reception, the DJ is absolutely crucial, DON'T SKIMP on the selection process. The biggest light  show, plasma screens, biggest speakers doesn't mean a thing if the DJ has no personality and doesn't know what to play.
