I just wanted to take a little time to reflect on a season passed. A few months ago, I would have never guessed that I would've been shooting football again but for some reason the photos gods to mercy on me and let me get back on the gridiron sidelines. Hopefully after enough penance, I'll find myself back shooting NFL for someone!
So I wanted to post some of my favorite stuff from this season and not in a slideshow but as single images. Ok, I'm only doing it for SEO and image indexing but let's pretend I'm doing it for showcase reasons!
So here we go....
For some reason, I really like this image of Riley Dodge of the University of North Texas, I love the light and the look on his face prior to his first game of the year against Ball State after a standout high school career and transitioning to playing for his dad at North Texas.
This photo from the same game got play on Sports Illustrated's site, not my best action photo ever by any stretch of the imagination but still memorable.
And the only reason I show this next photo is because it illustrates the story of Ball State's season and it's defensive woes...offenses this season ran right by the Cardinals as if they were standing still sometimes.
This next image from the Toledo vs Purdue game is special because of the circumstances of how it was shot. This was the FIRST image of a sequence shot of Stephen Williams of Toledo pass reception that was shot with a 600 f4 and displayed at FULL FRAME here, no crop! I just found it amazing that the camera and lens locked in on the first image this tight, never happened before and I wouldn't be surprised if it never happened again. If only it were caught a split second earlier it'd be a once in a lifetime shot.
For some reason this photo of DeVier Posey of Ohio State being tackled by Purdue defenders grabs me. I think it's a kick return and the Purdue kicker Carson Wiggs is making the desperation tackle, sure does read that way!
More later...
